Skilled Volunteers for Israel
Skilled Volunteers for Israel is a non-profit organization based in New York City, USA. The purpose of the organization is to help match volunteer professionals aged 50 and over from across the US, Canada, Europe and Israel to volunteer opportunities in associations that serve young people and students from underprivileged communities in the State of Israel.
The organization provides students in non-profit organizations with the B’Yachad program, which provides online classes in the English language for free to young people and students from underprivileged Israeli communities.
The volunteers meet with students individually through the zoom platform, and serve as conversation partners and instructors in the English language.
During the last two years, the program included over 250 volunteers aged 50+ from the USA, Canada, Israel and Europe who were matched with over 350 Israeli students.
